Growing gifts aren't a one-season category — but each period of the year calls for a different assortment, and ordering late means missing the window entirely given production and shipping lead times. Here's a simple calendar to help you plan ahead.
Valentine's Day (order by December)
Small, romantic formats perform best: mini rose kits, heart-shaped packaging, anything that pairs naturally with a card. Keep price points low for last-minute add-on purchases.
Mother's Day (order by February–March)
This is typically the strongest growing-gift season of the year. Herb kits, flowering plant kits, and anything positioned as "a gift that keeps growing" resonate strongly. Consider a dedicated end-cap or gifting table for the two weeks leading up to the date.
Back-to-school / Early Autumn (order by June)
Kids' kits and novelty formats — grass hair kits, pet-themed planters — do well as small treats and party favours during this period, independent of any single gifting occasion.
Halloween & Thanksgiving (order by July–August)
Seasonal novelty formats with an autumnal or playful theme can extend your gifting section beyond the major occasions and keep the category visible through the quieter months.
Christmas / Holiday season (order by August–September)
Your highest-volume window. Festive-themed kits (mini trees, holiday-decorated pots) and gift box formats sell well both as standalone gifts and as stocking fillers. Given the volume typically ordered for this period, this is the order that most benefits from locking in early — production and DDP shipping both need lead time.
General rule of thumb
Because kits are produced and shipped internationally with DDP delivery to your warehouse, we recommend placing seasonal orders 3–4 months ahead of the target sell period, and further ahead for the Christmas peak.
